  • Farewell to Sakai: Spring 2025 Marks the Final Semester

     

    Sakai Ending Soon

     

    We’re in the home stretch of our transition from Sakai to Canvas! Spring 2025 will be the final semester that active courses and project sites will be available in Sakai. Starting Summer 2025, Canvas will be the sole LMS that will be fully supported across The Claremont Colleges.

    Key Dates & Changes

    • July 1, 2025 – Sakai will move to admin access only, and users will no longer have direct access. Content will be retrieved by Sakai admins upon request only. 
    • The Student Information System (SIS) will integrate exclusively with Canvas. No new courses or enrollments will take place in Sakai.
    • If you haven’t yet explored Canvas or begun migrating your courses/project sites, we strongly encourage you to do so before the academic year ends.
    • Contact IT staff at your respective college for assistance with moving to Canvas.

    Sakai Archiving Details

    • A legacy Sakai archive will be available from July 1, 2025 to July 1, 2026, with access limited to each college’s Sakai administrators. 
    • After July 1, 2026, the Sakai archive will be stored offline until July 1, 2030.
